OriBonng, as the name suggests, is rooted in the cultures and delicacies of Orissa and Bengal.
OriBonng is a dream, conceived and cherished by Subarna Das – a true gourmet at heart and an ardent fan of Indian food and culture. Having always stayed away from her hometown Bhubaneshwar, she constantly craved authentic Odia and Bengali food, all the more because it would make her feel close to home! As a consequence, the cooking began to come to her almost naturally and she eventually took to cooking traditional meals for her family and herself. Odia & Bengali food has remained an inseparable part of her life, right since her childhood days; those exquisite flavours have been a source of delight as much as nostalgia! Her daughter Apoorva has helped her hone her culinary skills since she too has turned out to be a true connoisseur of good food.
Subarna, in her role in the corporate sector, while climbing ladders and gathering many accolades, came across several people who missed the essence and tastes of the East, just like her! Not all were equipped to cook by themselves every time they fancied a home-style meal. While she was still wondering whether or not to abandon her successful corporate career to chase and nurture her gluttonous dream, Apoorva’s persistence for delicious food steered her to start OriBonng – a destination for every Bengali and Odia food lover!
